As a blogger, I recently researched whether credit unions can operate in more than one state. To my surprise, I found out that yes, they can indeed operate across state lines. This is made possible through a federal charter, which allows credit unions to serve members in multiple states. Some credit unions also form partnerships with other credit unions to expand their services across state boundaries. Overall, this flexibility allows credit unions to provide better service and reach more members, even if they live outside the credit union's original state.
